Project Overview
Creative Director Todd Sadler came to me with a vision to revamp his portfolio website. His old website used an off-the-shelf WordPress template that lacked the originality needed to stand out in a competitive industry. He wanted a new design to mimic Google's iconic search interface and minimalist aesthetic.
My Approach
Working in the creative industry, I know how important it is for your portfolio to stand out. I was excited to help Todd bring this unique idea to life with a portfolio that matched his creativity.
Using the Google home page and its design style for inspiration, I quickly created a Figma prototype to share with Todd. Following a few stylistic tweaks to the design, I started building. Given the limited budget, I relied on WordPress's built-in functions to add custom features without needing paid plugins. Due to our close collaboration and efficient build process, we completed the new website in under two weeks.
Impact
"PERFECT. I love the site!!!" were Todd's words after completing his website. A great portfolio should reflect its owner's creativity. With his new website, Todd can feel confident finding new job opportunities with a strong portfolio that matches their creative vision and is proud to share.
