How does it work?

Onboarding - we start off with a call. This is where we discuss your budget and your goals to inform how we approach the project. At the end of this conversation, we will know how your website will be built, how much the project will cost, and how long it will take.
Design - the project officially starts by creating a design prototype. For templated websites this process is relatively quick. The more bespoke the design, the longer this phase takes. At the end of this phase, you will know what your site is going to look like.
Development and Testing - this stage is where the design becomes real. I build out the approved design and connect it to all the back end functions needed. During this phase, you can view the website on a staging site as it is built. You can use the site and test the functions to make sure it is perfect before we launch.
Launch - this final stage moves the completed website from it’s staging environment to the live server. Once this stage is complete, your website will be public facing and ready for the your customers to find and use.
Post-Launch Support - there are often teething problems in the early stages of a website’s life. For one month after the website is live, you can count on my technical support to fix any issues that arise from your site’s real-world use.

Who is this for?

This package is aimed for businesses who want a website but don’t yet have the infrastructure or knowledge to decide exactly what direction to take the site. A website can be optimised in different ways for different goals. This package delivers a website that has all the fundamentals in place ready to be optimised for whatever direction the business decides to take it in the future.

Why hire me instead of using AI or DIY website builders or even a cheaper offshore freelancer?

Before working together, there isn’t much to separate me from other freelancers. My value and difference comes from the relationship we build while working together. It is not for no reason that most of my clients continue working with me for years after our first project. What you get from me is clear, honest communication, non-exploitative pricing, and website expertise that you will grow to trust.

Do I help with setting up domains, hosting, or emails?

I am happy to offer my opinion on the best way to set up your website infrastructure but it is not something I will set up for you. I will point you in the direction of where to set these things up but ultimately, it is worth you doing it yourself so that you have full ownership of your website assets and are not reliant on me.

What happens after the project finishes?

After the project finishes, I will make sure you are fully aware of how to manage and update your website. I offer maintenance and support contracts billed hourly where I regularly check the health of your website and make sure it is functioning properly.

Do I use templates, or design websites from scratch?

I enjoy the craft of building websites and helping business stand out through their’s. For that reason, where possible I will always look to create a bespoke design for a website. Only for clients with smaller budgets where it is not viable for me to both design and build a website, we will use a template.

Who owns the website once it is finished?

I encourage all my clients to have full control of their domain registration and hosting. I have met many business owners coming to me from a different developer who do not know how to access their hosting or domain registration and are completely stuck as a result. Given what a valuable asset it can be for your business, my intention is to build your website and leave you with full control of it for the future.
